How Google Protects Your Data: Nikhil Dhawan (A Conversation with Internet Giant)

Google is having the world`s Largest Data Centers and Security systems in the world protecting its customers valuable data 24X7 without any delay.

I recently had some words with the Senior Vice President, Android, Chrome & Apps, Sundar Pichai through his Google + Profile and Gmail, in which I asked him some interesting facts to know about how they protect our important data in a brilliant way without causing any hoo-haa to the data of even a single user making people (their customers) assure about the safage and assurance of their data.Although I had a very little time to meet with him on his personal E-mail but still I managed to know some key points.
Sundar Pichai, SVP, Android, Chrome & Apps, Google Inc.

Aah! I think some of you are not familiar with Sundar Pichai, Don`t worry, I`m telling some interesting facts about him, actually Mr. Sundar Pichai serves as Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome & Apps at Google Inc.

Now, Keeping aside Sundar, Let me show you how Google Protects Your Data

Nikhil Dhawan, Manager, Tech World Inc., Jammu.

Data and security

At their data centers, they take security very seriously. they keep your data safe and secure by using dozens of critical security features.

We've designed our data centers with security in mind.

Security is part of Google`s data centers' DNA. They build custom servers exclusively for their data centers, never selling or distributing them externally.

According to Google`s Data Center Head, "We've also designed them so they don’t include unnecessary hardware or software—reducing the number of potential vulnerabilities.
We also have robust disaster recovery measures in place. For example, in the event of a fire or any other disruption, we shift data access automatically and seamlessly to another data center so that our users can keep working, uninterrupted. Our emergency backup generators continue to power our data centers even in the event of a power failure".

Google safeguards your data.

Rather than storing each user's data on a single machine or set of machines, they distribute all data—including their own—across many computers in different locations. They then chunk and replicate the data over multiple systems to avoid a single point of failure. Google randomly name these data chunks as an extra measure of security, making them unreadable to the human eye.
While you work, their servers automatically back up your critical data. So when accidents happen—if your computer crashes or gets stolen—you can be up and running again in seconds.

Lastly, Google rigorously track the location and status of each hard drive in their data centers. They destroy hard drives that have reached the end of their lives in a thorough, multi-step process to prevent access to the data.

Google`s  security team is on-duty 24x7.

Their full-time Information Security Team maintains the company’s perimeter defense systems, develops security review processes, and builds their customized security infrastructure. It also plays a key role in developing and implementing Google’s security policies and standards.
At the data centers themselves, they have access controls, guards, video surveillance, and perimeter fencing to physically protect the sites at all times.

Now with all these things, I dont think that you need to worry about your personal data theft, when there is Google to store it.
